Ludacris brings new meaning to ’shake your money maker’ with the recent release of one of hip-hop magazine XXL’s “Most Anticipated Records of the Year,” Release Therapy. As an in-the-know, ahead-of-the-curve New Yorker, I couldn’t wait any longer to hear the new album and see the man of the hour during the album release party at Lower East Side club Element.

Best Week Ever

September 22nd, 2006 by Katie

Bryant Park Hotel

Who had the best week ever? No, not Justin Timberlake. This September, Manhattan brought sexy back. The city became a magnet for anybody with fashion, music or sporting sense. This is the month you can’t believe that you don’t live here and the month that I can’t believe I do. The 2006 US Open powered through fall showers, Olympus Fashion Week revealed Spring dos and don’ts on the runway and the beats at the MTV VMAs could be heard from Radio City to Rockefeller Center.

Flirting With Danger

July 24th, 2006 by Katie

Nick Danger

Running to a last-minute fashion launch party in the rain on the hottest day of the year, isn’t actually a bad problem to have. I met a good friend and her boyfriend at Stereo in Chelsea to check out a new men’s line of fashion that they had just photographed – Nick Danger. Just as I arrived at Stereo in Chelsea, the sky opened up into one of those amazing summer downpours. With only a drizzle of rain on my shoulders, I was luckier than the suckers huddling under a gutter to smoke out front.

Beauty Beyond the Surface

July 18th, 2006 by Daphne

Surface Magazine

When the Glamourite life calls for coverage of the Surface Magazine party, I shook off my tiredness from the previous bacchanal evening, called my girl friend, Victoria, and we were at hotel QT (a boutique hotel right off Times Square) at 7 p.m. on the dot. We were fashionably on time as experience has taught both of us that if it takes a woman that long to get pretty, then the right man has probably come and gone.

Penthouse Please

July 3rd, 2006 by Lauren

Ava Rooftop

Check your detox plans at the door because once you step out onto this roof top, the drinks start flowing. Besides the fact that the cocktail girls are just about the sweetest people you’ll meet, the cocktails themselves are to die for. Key Lime Martini?? YES PLEASE. And don’t even get me started on the fact that AVA has thee best Mojitos around. You can try to argue with me like fellow Glamourite, Katie…but you’ll be wrong. Dead wrong. I have been all over Manhattan trying to find a Mojito that will make me forget I’m on an island with 8-9 million people and beam me to an island such as Cuba, the hometown of the famous Mojito.

Sergio Davila Fall/Winter 2006

February 13th, 2006 by Edina

Yesterday, I attended the Sergio Davila fashion show for the fall season of 2006. Davila’s inspiration was a fashionable untamed America, everything from the mid-west cowboy theme to biker jackets, while keeping a realistic view of what he himself would wear. Knitwear is a serious focus of Davila’s, he considers himself a master of knits and that he should. The clothing line had an array of very detailed knits from vests to ponchos followed by very plain tee-shirts, blazers, fine trousers, and stylish jeans. Davila created a ready-to-wear mens line for the well cultured, very fashionable man. While the show only lasted less than 30 minutes, the clothing showed detail that must have taken months to prepare.
