Museum Mile

May 16th, 2007 by Jasmine

Metropolitan Greek and Roman ExhibitThe city has been buzzing about the new Greek and Roman Galleries that just opened at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, so when an art aficionado friend of mine came into town last weekend I considered it a “must-do” while she was here. Saturday morning we excitedly met up on the vast front staircase leading up to the Metropolitan Museum. Before we walked in, my friend informed me that the stairs leading up to museums symbolize the aspirations we all should have to the artists inside.

No Invite Needed

Empire State Building Bryant Park Upon walking through the suit-infested midtown blocks you’ll smell a standing waft of Marlboro in the air while tripping over tourists running out of Grand Central with suitcases. Orion on 42nd Street Party

January 7th, 2006 by Jasmine

View Down towards 42nd street and 8th avenueThe Orion is a condo building going up on 42nd street and scheduled to be done in the spring of 2006. It is currently the tallest building west of 8th avenue on 42nd street. The Real Deal has a great article about it written by Steve Cutler and Wired New York has a forum with pictures of the lot before it was built.

I have been watching the building grow up from my living room since their groundbreaking, so I was pretty excited when Lawlor Media Group sent over an invitation to go into the building and see the fantastic views from the top for a press soiree.

Bombay Sapphire’s pop-up store event retired the old red rug for a matching cool blue carpet which welcomed only 200 of the 600 guests. Once inside all were wowed once again for a completely blue Bobay Sapphire inspired interior featuring all blue sofa sets costing up to $2500, porcelain martini glasses priced at $120 for two, and an amazing ice carved chandelier center piece which melted into a coffee table/ ice bucket chilling your very own stash of Bombay Sapphire. And to top it all off was an open bar serving various recipes of the best Bombay martinis that will have you craving for more. (more…)
