Check your detox plans at the door because once you step out onto this roof top, the drinks start flowing. Besides the fact that the cocktail girls are just about the sweetest people you’ll meet, the cocktails themselves are to die for. Key Lime Martini?? YES PLEASE. And don’t even get me started on the fact that AVA has thee best Mojitos around. You can try to argue with me like fellow Glamourite, Katie…but you’ll be wrong. Dead wrong. I have been all over Manhattan trying to find a Mojito that will make me forget I’m on an island with 8-9 million people and beam me to an island such as Cuba, the hometown of the famous Mojito.
After sipping on a few drinks, I fell in love. In love with design, that is. I was introduced to an up and coming fashion designer, Stanley Adams. His designs are summed up as “Classicism with a dash of erotic seasoning.” Did anyone just say orgasm?? Stanley is soft spoken, and his designs speak for themselves. Others at my table viewed a couple samples of his work and were blown away. We began joking about how in the future we’ll all say, “Oh yes, I knew Stanley back when…”
Because of the location of AVA, Midtown, above the Dream Hotel, you’ll constantly be surrounded by the melting-pot-of-people Manhattan draws. Aging mostly between 28 – 40, AVA seems to wrangle in successful types ready to leave the stress of their job at the door, and willing to sip a cocktail and step out into the “fresh air” only a midtown roof top lounge can provide. Ha…no but seriously, it’s nice. AVA is a place to catch up with the girls after work, meet for a third date, or throw a private party. With AVA’s open deck, candle lit tables, and music to set the mood, be prepared to stay for a while…and spend some cash. It’s not cheap, but well worth your hard earned dimes.
