Shopping VIP Style

May 22nd, 2006 by Elle

Fashion spotter Top Button and music leaders WKTU, Z100, and Power 105 came together to throw a three-part, two-day event of designer shopping and live performances May 5th and 6th. Despite strong shopaholic tendencies it was the DJ’s and performing artists that brought in and entertained sold out crowds for each of the three event sessions.

Friday kicked off the three-part event with a VIP only evening and everyone came dressed for the occasion with large frame Gucci sunglasses, spring’s tan Chloe satchels, and pedicure bearing Jimmy Choo sandals.

But it was not the fashionable crowd or the stellar fashions that made the Friday VIP evening; it was the two performers on stage: Christina Milian and Sean Paul. Milian provoked attendees with songs like “Say I” from her new album “So Amazin’” while Sean Paul raised the room temperature with “The Trinity” tracks.

Opening up Saturday morning, was part two of the event and musical artists Lucas Prata and Jagged Edge. Prata was in town to promote his CD “Lets Get It On” while Jagged Edge brought a little flava to the stage with “Good Luck Charm.”

Wrapping up the evening was America’s newest eligible bachelor Nick Lachey. He made sure to sing several tracks from his new album about his fresh break up from Jessica Simpson, including, “What’s left of Me.” Also from Lachey’s label, Dirtie Blonde opened the musical stage Saturday evening with her latest hit “Walk Over Me.”

Enough about the fab music, with all of the fashions to be found and deals to be had the Top Button event was a dream come true for shoppers like myself. The Azzure Denim Lounge had jeans in the latest styles and fades, as an added bonus they gave out artist meet and greet passes with purchase.

Conair was on hand with to take event goers pictures at the grand entrance and to sample the latest hair care technologies. Further into the event layout KangaROOS footwear and apparel had their latest kicks. Past the bigger designers shoppers found the latest trends from emerging designers and specialty boutiques.

Representing the product addict in all of us beauty must haves Bliss, Lush, and NYC Color had an array of products and free make-overs, how-to’s, and sampling.

All of the Manhattanites in attendance left Style Stage NYC with the latest designer fashions, products, and accessories; making for a great start to a hip summer wardrobe. Each of the six artist and their latest hits kept the shopaholic crowd entertained.
